Barcelona - things to do by Day

The city of Barcelona is a immense metropolis on the Mediterranean coast of Spain. It has a variety of history dating back to pre-Roman times and the ancient Spanish buildings in the old city is quite luscious. You can't help but be impressed by the ornate Sagrada Familia Church with its extremely ornate spires. It was started in 1882 and is still unfinished, a bit like many DIY projects! Temperatures year-round in Spain are warm with no shortage of sunshine and extremely little rain. You don't need to speak Spanish in Barcelona. British, pointing and mime are all well understood. Las Ramblas is the most infamous pedestrianised street lined with pavement cafes and flower stalls. It is a entertainment location to sit and have a beverage as it's full of street artists performing conjuring tricks, stilt-walking and mime.

Barcelona has 68 parks including the Ciutadella Park which houses the military citadel, the zoo and a few museums. There are a few beaches which are easy to get to by metro, bus or tram. Barcelona also has a great reputation for its football team. Tickets to one of their home matches would certainly be a winner for a stag do.

Plaza Rial is a great location to locate early on in the stag do. it's an excellent location to find cheap tapas and no shortage of lager. The Kabul Hostel in the Plaza is a reasonably priced location to stay right in the centre of the action. Cheap eats are also available at the exceptional Boqueria food market. Have it wrapped to go and head out to the waterfront or one of the parks for a spontaneous picnic.

Barcelona - things to do at Night

Like all great cities for a stag do, Barcelona has no shortage of clubs and bars within easy walking distance of the city centre. The Tragaluz Restaurant and the Bar Lobo are great places to commence the stag do off. The most quirky bar has to be the Wax Museum Bar at the bottom of Las Ramblas. It has a few different themed rooms. In the fairy grotto you can sit on toad stools surrounded by wax creatures. Another room is a "Believe it or not" experience in an upside-down doll house complete with furniture on the ceiling. These are great places for taking a few whacky stag do photos for the record.

After midnight, head for the Moog, a House and Techno Club with great dance music hosted by DJs from all over the world. It is pretty small and always crowded but has a great attitude every night of the week.
